What to expect at the Eat Well Clinic

Updated: Feb 28, 2023

It is important to understand the advantages of a comprehensive nutrition session. Read below to find out how an assessment takes place and what information you will receive.

Each client is assessed using the same process and tools, however the information provided is always unique to the individual. Here is an outline of the assessment each person goes through, and the information that is provided:

  1. The Digital Assessment Form

Prior to the first session each client receives an assessment form via email. The questions might vary according to the client situation, but the answers are used for the same initial assessment. By completing the assessment form before the first session it enables your dietitian to prepare for the session in advance, thus allowing more time to discuss their findings and advice.

2. Dietary Analysis

Using a comprehensive dietary analysis software, we are able to use the information provided in your assessment form to create a full analysis of your current nutrition intake. Depending on the personal goals of the client, specific nutrients can be analysed to ensure a relevant and informative report is created for each person. Below is a sample report, showing individual targets (based on health status, weight/desired weight, age, activity level, sex and height):

Depending on the goals of each client, relevant information on each nutrient will be added to support any improvements in the current dietary intake.

3. Diet Analysis App (Apple and Android)*

For clients who wish to make specific dietary changes, we can offer access to a food analysis app. This allows the client to track foods and drinks consumed for a given period. Foods can be added manually within the app or there is a voice recognition tool that allows the verbal input of data. All foods in the database come with visual portions to choose from, so you can easily add quantities without needing to weigh anything. If you have the same breakfast every morning, this can be saved and easily repeated without the need to search for the same foods again. All of the information is automatically transferred to your dietitian and will be analysed as described above.

*The app might not be appropriate for all clients and will be suggested if it is felt to be of benefit to the client. Please ask your dietitian for more information if you are interested in this approach.

4. The Sessions

All sessions are offered online via video call and any relevant documents will be sent via email to the client prior to each session.

Depending on the package you have chosen, the frequency of your sessions will be planned according to your situation/need. For example, if a client needs support for an eating disorder and chooses the package below, the 6 sessions will be organised according to the speed the client wishes to progress through each session.

We don't believe in sessions having an expiry date, therefore if you purchase a package and your situation changes, you are welcome to come back and pick up where you left off as soon as you are able to.

5. The Report

Every client receives a personalised booklet (PDF) containing both general information about healthy eating, as well as specific advice/recommendations relevant to the individual. This report contains everything that is discussed during the sessions, so there is no need for you to take notes. The content of the report is specific to each person, it might include: recipes; supplement suggestions; macronutrient ratios (carbohydrates, fats, proteins) etc. The report is designed to be a comprehensive overview of all the advice you have received and can be used as a long-term guide to maintain your new eating style.
